MB visits landslides in Gombak, handover aid to flood victims

SELAYANG, Dec 30 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari visited three landslide locations in the Gombak district earlier today, which became critical areas following heavy rains on December 18.

His visit started at at the Teratai Apartment in Bandar Baru Selayang at 10.45am, followed by two other locations at Persiaran 3 Jalan FT01, and Jalan Melati 20 in Taman Melati.

During the visit to Teratai Apartment, Amirudin had briefed residents there on the latest developments situation.

He is also scheduled to visit the Balai Penghulu Mukim Batu later in the day, to hand over the Selangor Bangkit cash aid to flood victims.

Earlier on 38 families in the apartment building were instructed to evacuate to a temporary relief centre (PPS), following the landslide at a cliff near their residence.

Following the incident, the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) placed canvases to cover the cliffside, in order to prevent the erosion from worsening.
