PETALING JAYA, Dec 8 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) opened mobile license counters at eight shopping centres, to make it more convenient for traders to renew their permits.

Mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir said the counters, which opened in November and will operate until December 31, also provide education and training for traders in digitalisation.

“When making payments, we can show them how to do so online, so they can use it with ease in the future.

“MBPJ will endeavour to undertake more digitalisation efforts, to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection,” he said after visiting one such counter at Starling Mall earlier today.

The mobile counter service can also be found at Ikano Power Centre, Paradigm Mall, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, and The Curve, as of today.

It will be opened at 3 Damansara on December 15 and 16, Jaya Shopping Centre on December 22 and 23, and Amcorp Mall on December 30 and 31.

Azhan added the same method was also carried out at seven night markets and three day markets, to make it easier for hawkers to renew their licenses while trading.

The night markets with mobile counter service are situated at Seksyen 17/1A, SS 8 Sungai Way, Taman Medan PJS 2 D, Medan 9, Lorong Masjid 1 Kayu Ara, TSB 9, and SS2/60.

The day markets with mobile counter service are situated at SS2/62, Jalan Othman, and Seri Setia.
