SHAH ALAM, Dec 28 — A total of 28,683 booster doses have been administered under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) Booster as of yesterday, since it was launched earlier this month.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the programme also saw 79,023 registrations by the public up to January 1, 2022, via the SELangkah mobile app.

“The number of participants does not include registrations made via the Selvax Booster programme organised by the state representatives. Despite the flooding incident in several districts last week, the programme is still being carried out as usual.

“The programme was temporarily suspended at certain Selcare clinics which were affected by the flooding, including in Shah Alam (closed from December 19 to December 21); Sentosa (closed on December 20), and SkyPark Subang Airport (closed on December 20 and December 22).

“As of now, all Selcare clinics have resumed their usual operations,” she said when contacted by Selangor Journal today.

Dr Siti Mariah added the programme is also being organised at several community halls, as requested by the respective state assemblymen.

“Until today, four series of the Selvax Booster programmes have been carried out at community halls in the Bandar Utama, Balakong, Taman Templer, and Rawang constituencies.

“For those who want to get their booster shot under the management of their state representatives, they may refer to their respective offices for further information,” she said.

On December 7, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that 157,000 booster doses will be offered to state citizens, via Selvax Booster.
