By Nasuha Badrul Huzaini

SHAH ALAM, Dec 8 — A total of 312,928 doses of vaccines have been administered to the people under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) for the community — dubbed Selvax Community, as of December 3, 2021, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the vaccine rollout has benefitted approximately 156,464 individuals in the state.

On top of that, Amirudin said some 3,572 doses or 1,786 teenagers have participated in the Selvax for Adolescents programme.

“The main objective of the Selvax programme is to expedite the vaccination rate among the citizens of Selangor, regardless of race, religion, or political stance.

“Through Selvax we have procured a total of 1.25 million of vaccine doses, of which 500,000 doses were allocated for Selvax Community and 750,000 reserved for the industry (Selvax Industry).

“As of November 1 the remaining vaccine doses, which have yet to be sold under the Selvax Industry, stands at 537,045 doses.

“The vaccine’s lifespan can last up to three years and the state government has several plans in place to ensure that the vaccines will be fully used, including selling it to other states or other countries which are currently facing a shortage of vaccine supply.

“Our main priority is to provide the supply for booster shots beginning today. The booster shots are available via walk-ins to 17 SelCare clinics throughout the state.

“Residents aged 18 and above who have received two doses of vaccine can get their booster shots by making appointments via the website or through the SELangkah mobile app,” he said in response to a query from Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran during the State Legislative Assembly today.

Yesterday, Amirudin announced a total of 157,000 Covid-19 vaccine booster shots will be given for free to Selangor residents under the Selvax Booster Programme.

The list of the Selcare clinics involved in the SelVax Booster Programme is available on the website, https://selcareclinic.com/our-clinic/ or via the SELangkah mobile apps.
