Parking payment in Selangor to go fully digital from Jan 3

By Amin Ridzuan Ishak

SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 — Parking payment in areas managed by local councils (PBT) in the state will fully use the digital payment method from January 3, said the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU).

In a posting on Facebook, the agency that implemented Smart Selangor initiatives informed that all parking payments will need to be made using the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) mobile app which is easier, faster and safer.

Using the app, users need only to fill in the car registration number and pay based on the parking period. In addition, payment can also be made through authorised e-coupon agents.

Top-up credits coupons can also be purchased at convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, 99 Speedmart and KK Mart.

In March, state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han informed that Selangor will implement digital parking payments through the SSP app and end the use of manual coupons from January 2022.

For the general public who do not own a smartphone or SSP app, physical e-coupon agents will be available as an alternative.
