SHAH ALAM, Dec 17 — The water supply recovery 463 affected areas in Selangor is almost complete, standing at 92 per cent as of 12pm today.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the recovery period differs from one area to another, according to the location and distance of consumers’ premises.
“Water supply in all 463 affected areas is expected to fully recover by 11:30pm tonight. Recovery status for affected areas can be obtained at hentitugas.airselangor.com,” it said in a Facebook statement.
Air Selangor added it hopes consumers who have received water supply will it prudently, to ensure the recovery process in other affected areas runs as smoothly as scheduled.
“Consumers can refer to all our official communication channels or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.
“Inquiries and complaints can also be submitted at the Help Centre which can be found at www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application,” it said.
The forced shutdown of the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant yesterday resulted in disruptions for five regions, including Sepang (194), Petaling (172), Hulu Langat (54), Putrajaya (23), and Kuala Langat (20).
Air Selangor said it is working closely with Lembaga Urus Air Selangor to identify the cause of raw water pollution along Sungai Semenyih, and several streams around the river.
It also activated its Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to provide alternative water supply to the consumers in affected areas.
81 water tankers were mobilised to provide alternative water assistance to affected areas and critical premises, during the unscheduled water disruption.
