SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — The booster doses offered under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax Booster) would increase the number of people to receive their booster shots and help in reducing the risk of getting infected by Covid-19.

Selangor Task Force Covid-19 (STFC) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the booster shot helps to increase the body’s immunity against the coronavirus for those who are fully vaccinated three to six months.

He explained that the booster shots are for individuals aged 18 and above and priorities are given to the senior citizens with chronic illnesses.

“We hope more people would benefit from the free booster shot especially following the newly discovered Omicron variant,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini, yesterday.

Two days ago, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a total of 157,000 booster doses were offered to the people through the Selvax Booster programme.
