Six constituencies will open vaccination centres for Selvax Booster

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 — Six constituencies will be opening their own vaccination centre to cater to the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) Booster, said Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

The state executive councillor for public health said the constituencies are Seri Kembangan, Taman Templer, Rawang, Bandar Utama, Balakong and Tanjong Sepat.

She said the initiative is taken as a measure to facilitate the people especially those who live in rural areas to get their booster jabs.

“Many state assemblymen, mainly from the Chinese majority areas, have requested to have the vaccination centre. For instance, there are no Selcare Clinic in Tanjung Sepat and Taman Templer, hence the vaccination centre must be set up. They are willing to bear the cost to run the vaccination centre.

“However there is no specific date yet for the opening. We will announce via the SELangkah mobile app. Even though the vaccination centre will be set up, the public still has to register through the app,” she said.

She was quoted on the Bual Bicara talk show titled ‘‘Booster dose measures for self-protection’ broadcast live on SelangorTV YouTube and Media Selangor Facebook, last night.

The state government had previously announced that some 157,000 booster shots will be given for free under the Selvax Booster programme, beginning December 8.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said individuals aged 18 and above who have received complete two doses could get their booster jab at the nearest Selcare Clinic.

The list for Selcare Clinic that is involved in the programme could be obtained via https://selcareclinic.com/our-clinics/ or the SELangkah app.
