Teng: Seldec’s boom now sees it shipping nationwide

SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — The Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec) programme has expanded its delivery services outside of Selangor, due to encouraging public response.

State executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said products and items sold via the platform can now be delivered nationwide, in collaboration with local courier companies including Pos Laju, Line Clear and Logistika.

He said since Seldec’s launch in October 2019, the platform now has 1,200 registered entrepreneurs, with over 8,000 products available through the programme.

“Among the items include fresh goods like fish, chicken, meat, vegetables and fruits, apart from frozen foods and ready-to-eat products. Most importantly, all of the products marketed via Seldec come from small and medium micro enterprises,” he said, responding to a query from Semenyih assemblyman Zakaria Hanafi during the State Legislative Assembly earlier today.

Teng added the online initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit, Yayasan Hijrah Selangor, and the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).

“On top of that, a total of 12 local councils across the state are also involved in empowering the entrepreneurs’ programme towards achieving the Smart Digital and Economy mission,” he said.
