Applications for second phase of LZS flood aid open Jan 1

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 1 — Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) has opened applications for the second phase of the LZSPeduli flood aid beginning January 1 until 2pm, January 31 for flood victims who could not do so before.

Applications can be made online via www.zakatselangor.com.my/lzspeduli.

LZS chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop, in a statement yesterday, said for the first phase which ended on December 30, the board received 35,000 applications, surpassing expectations.

LZS had opened online applications for the first phase of LZSPeduli on December 23.

“Currently, we are actively processing the remaining first phase applications received. LZS has also expedited LZSPeduli aid payments which were first channelled on December 28 in stages,” he said.

Meanwhile, Saipolyazan said for those who are not tech-savvy, especially senior citizens, applications can be made manually by visiting the nearest LZS branch.

“However, LZS encourages close relatives or neighbours to assist them in applying online through the LZSPeduli as this method is more convenient and faster,” he said.
