MBI allocates RM27,300 in flood aid for 91 families

KAJANG, Jan 30 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation) (MBI) has allocated a total of RM27,300 to help 91 families affected by the flood in Beranang, here today.

Its chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said each household were given RM300.

“The flood had hit seven villages on November 22, last year. The disaster had also caused severe damages and losses to the victims.

“Therefore, had helped them by disbursing some cash aid,” she told SelangorKini when met after handing over the donations at Balai Raya Kampung Sesapan Batu Minangkabau, today.

Apart from giving the cash assistance, Norita said MBI had also distributed food baskets and mobilised volunteers to help with the post-flood cleaning process.

“We have distributed many forms of aid and the initiative will be continued from time to time. 

“The donations are part of the RM1.5 million allocation that was previously announced,” she said. 

On November 22, 2021, seven villages in Beranang were hit by the flood.

The villages include Kampung Sesapan Batu Minangkabau, Kampung Sesapan Batu Rembau, Kampung Sungai Jai, Kampung Jalan Enam Kaki, Kampung Paya Tanjung, Kampung Sesapan Kelubi and Kampung Bukit Kepong.
