GOMBAK, Jan 24 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI will be allocating some RM30 million for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) this year.

Its CSR department head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the funds will be distributed according to several categories such as Islamic affairs, schools, non-governmental organisations, sports, environment and festivals.

“The final amount has yet to be officially announced… but we expect it to be similar to last year’s amount of RM30 million for CSR programmes,” he said when met after handing over some donations during the MBI Donation Programme at Surau Malabar Hidayatul Islam in Selayang, yesterday.

During the programme, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari donated RM50,000 to Sekolah Taman Permata, which had recently caught fire, RM20,000 to the orphanage in Kajang as well as food baskets.
