More than 46,000 flood-hit families receive Selangor Bangkit cash aid

SHAH ALAM, Jan 24 — A total of 46,147 families affected by the December flood in Selangor have received the RM1,000 cash aid under the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) programme as of today.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on Facebook said a total of RM46.267 million had been allocated for the initiative so far.

Based on the infographic shared on distribution of the aid, the highest number of recipients is recorded in Klang with 12,728 families, followed by Petaling (11,241) and Hulu Langat (7,120).

The assistance was also disbursed to 6,161 families in Sepang, 5,279 in Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor (2,588), Gombak (898), Hulu Selangor (93) and 39 families in Sabak Bernam.

On December 21 last year, the Selangor government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB initiaitve, following the flood incident that hit eight districts in the state.

Eligible recipients include flood victims relocated to the registered flood relief centres (PPS), private PPS and those who remained at home.

Amirudin had previously said that the distribution of aid would be completed by the end of January.
