Over 30,000 flood-hit families receive BSB cash aid as of this morning

SHAH ALAM, Jan 12 — Approximately 30,140 families affected by the floods in Selangor have received the RM1,000 cash aid under the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) programme at 10am today.

On Twitter, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a total of RM30.26 million had been allocated for the purpose so far.

He also shared an infographic about the programme’s distributions summary alongside his tweet.

Based on the information stated, twelve families of flood victims who perished during the disaster have also received cash aid of RM10,000 each.

The Petaling district recorded the highest number of recipients with 9,666 families, followed by Klang (7,376) and Hulu Langat (6,457).

The cash aid has also been distributed to 2,326 families in Sepang, 1,890 in Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor (1,548), Gombak (750), Hulu Selangor (92) and 35 families in Sabak Bernam.

On December 21 last year, the Selangor government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following the flood incident that hit eight districts in the state at the end of last year.

Eligible recipients include flood victims relocated to the registered PPS, private PPS and those who remained at home.

Previously, Amirudin expected the disbursement of the cash aid would be completed by the end of this month.
