SHAH ALAM, Jan 17 — A total of 928 individuals received booster doses through the Selangor Vaccine (Selvax) Booster programme in the Pandamaran constituency, yesterday.
Its representative Tony Leong Tuck Chee said a majority of the recipients were walk-ins as opposed to those who pre-registered through the SELangkah app.
“I did not expect the response to be very encouraging, in fact, some individuals were willing to queue up as early as 7.30am to get the booster dose.
“There are also individuals who have appointments in MySejahtera but because the dates are far away, they chose to take it with us. We helped by contacting the HelpDesk to cancel their appointment,” he told SelangorKini.
Leong said he hoped the state government would consider holding a second series of the Selvax Booster programme following the encouraging response.
“If there is an (additional) allocation of Covid-19 booster doses from the Selangor government, we are ready to organise this programme again in the future,” he said.
The Selvax Booster programme was held in seven state constituencies from December 17 last year.
The programme started in Balakong, then continued to Bandar Utama on December 18 and 19, Rawang (December 20), Taman Templer (December 26), Seri Kembangan (December 30), Kuala Kubu Bharu (January 9) and Tanjung Sepat (January 14) .
On December 7, the state government announced 157,000 booster doses will be administered for free via the Selvax Booster programme.
