Skim Air Darul Ehsan recipients affected by flood eligible for water bill exemption

SHAH ALAM, Jan 5 — Recipients of the Skim Air Darul Ehsan (SADE) are eligible to receive the one-month water bill payment exemption for flood victims.

In a frequently asked questions post on Facebook, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said recipients are eligible if the account is under the “domestic” category, or Tariff Code 10.

“However, only the excess bill amount after deducting the SADE adjustment will be exempted,” it said.

SADE is a free water realignment programme for targeted groups in Selangor with a monthly household income of RM4,000 and below.

Air Selangor also said it will reconsider reconnecting the supply of flood-affected homes, before or without payment.

“However, customers still need to make the payment of any arrears,” it said.

It added that it will bear the cost of replacing water meters that were broken or lost due to the floods.

If no rebate is given to the water bill in January or users are still being charged in February, they can contact the Air Selangor Help Center at www.airselangor.com, through the Air Selangor app, or call 15300.

On December 31 last year, Air Selangor said households in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur affected by the recent floods are exempted from paying their January 2022 water bills.

It said the relief was part of the BSB Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) programme.

The exemption will be given automatically, without any need to fill forms or any form of correspondence.

Air Selangor said bill issuances will continue as usual for all customers, with customers eligible for the exemption also receiving the bill, but not needing to pay for the period in question.
