Top Glove appoints new independent non-executive directors

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — Top Glove Corporation Bhd (Top Glove) has announced the appointment of Lester Garson Huang and Anthony Lo as the group’s new independent non-executive directors (INEDs), today.

In the statement, Top Glove said the new appointees brought with them vast experience as INEDs on companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which also has high standards of corporate governance.

“Huang, a practising solicitor and notary, is currently the managing partner and co-chairman of a legal firm in Hong Kong, while Lo is a registered chartered accountant.

“The company looks forward to their positive contributions as it works towards its goal of becoming a Forbes and Fortune Global 500 Company by 2030,” it said.

The glovemaker added that in order to foster objective and independent deliberation, the company has limited the tenure of INEDs to nine years without further extension, in line with the Malaysian Corporate Governance Code.
