CHERAS, Jan 9 — The process of transferring post-flood waste from the temporary transfer stations to the landfill in Jeram, Kuala Selangor, is expected to be completed next week.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said two transfer stations located in Section 21, Shah Alam, and Bukit Puchong are still operating while the rest have closed down.

“We are confident that we will be able to clear the waste at the transfer stations within a week,” said Ng when met after the BAIK programme in Kampung Baru Bati 11, here today.

On December 26 last year, Ng said a total of 11 bulk waste transfer stations under four local councils were in operation to speed up the post-flood cleaning process.

The local councils involved are Shah Alam City Council, Subang Jaya Ciy Council, Kalang Municipal Council, and Sepang Municipal Council.

All of the transfer stations were fully utilised with more than 50 bulldozers and excavators used for the cleanup operation.
