Veteran civil servant Noraini Roslan appointed as new MPK president

SHAH ALAM, Jan 13 — Former Subang Jaya mayor Noraini Roslan has been appointed as the Klang Municipal Council’s (MPK) new president.

Her swearing-in ceremony took place at the Dewan Mesyuarat Raja Mahadi MPK in Klang yesterday.

After taking her oath, Noraini chaired the Finance and Assessment Committee Meeting No.1 2022.

The meeting was also attended by several local authority committee members and department heads online.

Noraini’s immediate predecessor is Dr Ahmad Fadzli Tajuddin, who was appointed as Selangor’s financial officer, effective December 16 last year.

The 58-year old former Subang Jaya mayor also served as Kuala Selangor District Council president from 2011 to 2017, prior to taking up her position at the Subang Jaya City Council.

With a master’s degree in regional planning from the North Carolina University in the United States, Noriani also served as MPK’s city planning department head from 1989 to 2010, and served in the same capacity at the Petaling Jaya City Council from 2010 to 2011.
