SHAH ALAM, Jan 26 — A unscheduled water disruption is set to affect 142 areas in the Petaling and Klang districts, following a burst pipe in Section 15 which requires emergency repair works, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor)
The burst pipe occurred following road development work nearby the Federal Highway by a third party yesterday.
“The emergency repairs will commence at 3pm today, and is expected to be completed by 3am on January 27. Water will be restored in stages to consumers’ premises after the repair works have been completed,” Air Selangor said in a statement.
It added the water supply recovery period will differ from one area to another, depending on the location and distance of a consumer’s premise.
“Alternative water aid via lorry tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises throughout this period of unscheduled water disruption.
“We ask the public for their cooperation in adhering to physical distancing and wearing face masks when obtaining their water supply from lorry tankers,” it said.
Air Selangor said updates on the incident will be informed to the public from time to time through all media. Users can also refer to the official Air Selangor app, on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or contact Air Selangor’s Contact Centre at 15300.
“Users are also encouraged to forward any queries or complaints to voiceless communication channels in the Help Centre at www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor app,” it said.
