Application for women’s scholarship to pursue further studies extended to March 15

SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — Scholarship applications to Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS) for the Lifelong Learning Programme is now open to the public until March 15.

The offer is also open to the Women’s Leadership Academy alumni between the ages of 21 to 40, to further their studies in management, marketing, human resources, business, and political science.

“The scholarships are aimed at preparing knowledgeable and highly competent women through continuous education, in line with the aspirations of Dasar Wanita Selangor in three focal points, which are leadership and representation,” WBS said in a Facebook post.

The state government allocates RM200,000 annually for the programmes, to aid women in the state to continue their studies on the diploma, bachelor and master’s level.

The scholarship, in cooperation with Open University Malaysia (OUM), is specifically for those who are selected and are at various leadership levels and those on the field.

Applications can be made at www.wbselangor.com.my, with applicant requirements being:

Members of the public:

  • A Malaysian citizen
  • Born in Selangor or has resided in the state for over 10 years, and is a registered voter in the state
  • Is interested and active in community work
  • Meets the eligibility requirements for the course applied for (refer to the website)

Alumni of the Women’s Leadership Academy:

  • Has already completed the Women’s Leadership Academy programme and graduated
  • Meets the eligibility requirements for the course applied for (refer to the website)
