Flood aid recipients urged not to cause long queue at aid-dispensing centre

SHAH ALAM, Feb 22 — Recipients of flood disaster financial aid from the federal and state governments are advised against turning up too early at the aid-dispensing centre and to plan their time as best as possible to avoid a long queue.

Klang district officer Mohd Faizal Abdul Raji said the district office would be giving out the aid from 3pm until 8.30pm and every recipient had been given a date to claim the financial assistance.

”We found that some have lined up as early as 1 pm until outside the hall in hot weather, resulting in the queue becoming too long and extending outside the aid-dispensing centre.

“They need not come and queue up too early. They don’t have to worry as adequate funds will be provided to all recipients at the rate of about 3,000 of them per day.”

He said this when contacted to comment on the situation of the public queueing up for about two kilometres at the MBSA Hall in Kota Kemuning, Section 23 to get the aid.

He said the district office would open the aid-dispensing centre until this Friday.
