MB: Over 114,000 families benefit from BSB as of Feb 28

SHAH ALAM, Feb 28 — Approximately 114,081 families affected by last year’s floods have received the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) aid as of today, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

In a Tweet, he said the aid involves an allocation of RM114.211 million, including RM130,000 given to the next-of-kin of flood victims who perished in the disaster.

The district with the highest amount of aid and recipients is Klang, with 60,427 families and RM60.48 million.

This is followed by Petaling with 20,948 families and RM20.94 million, and Kuala Langat with 10,904 families and RM10.91 million.

The district with the most casualties caused by the floods is Klang with six, followed by Sepang with three, and Hulu Langat with two.

On December 21 last year, the Selangor government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following the heavying flooding that hit eight districts in the state from December 17 to December 19.

Eligible recipients were each given RM1,000 per family, and include flood victims who were relocated to registered temporary relief centres (PPS), private PPS, and those who chose to remain with their homes.
