MBI contributes over RM70,000, sponsors building of orphan complex

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has channelled RM75,000 to Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) to fund the costs of constructing a complex for orphans on Pulau Indah in Port Klang.

Its value creation cluster head Daud Abd Rahman said the contributions for the complex also came from MBI’s subsidiary companies, including Kumpulan Hartanah Sdn Bhd (KHSB), Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB), and Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU).

“We hope this contribution can aid in completing the amount needed by Yide to build the orphan’s complex, which is estimated to be RM12 million,” he said.

Earlier on, Daud handed over the mock cheque to Yide’s general manager Nur Mohd Razali Abdullah, which was witnessed by MBI’s corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, at Yide’s office in Section 7.

On his part, Ahmad Azri said MBI is ready to provide more funds in allocation as needed when the complex’s construction is expected to begin in July this year.

“We have informed all the subsidiary companies. Insya-Allah, we will provide help if it is insufficient.

“I understand the ground-breaking ceremony for the project by Yide later on, will be attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari,” he said.
