Over 17,000 flood victims in Klang receive BSB cash aid

SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — A total of 17,400 flood victims in Klang have received the cash aid of RM1,000 under the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) initiative as of now.

Klang district officer Mohd Faizal Abdul Raji said they have stepped up the distribution process since two days ago, with a target of 2,000 recipients a day and an expected completion date by the end of this month.

“We were assisted by 30 additional staff from various departments who helped to key in the applicant’s data. This is to ensure that there are no overlapping applications.

“By the end of this week, all this will be completed, then the distribution will become easier, as we can apply for the right allocation. There are over 74,000 applications and it took some time for all to be vetted,” he told SelangorKini today.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had apologised for the delay of the BSB cash aid distribution due to overlapping applications which requires a thorough vetting process.

Following that, the state government had mobilised additional government staff to the Klang and Petaling’s Land and District Office as an effort to expedite the distribution process.
