Over 60,000 flood-affected families receive BSB cash aid

SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — A total of 61,282 families affected by the floods in Selangor have received the RM1,000 cash aid under the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) programme, as of 10am today.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on Twitter said approximately RM61.412 million has been allocated for the programme so far.

“The Klang district has recorded an increase of RMRM2.873 million. We will continue to increase the number of BSB recipients,” he said.

Amirudin also shared an infographic about the programme’s distributions summary alongside his tweet.

Based on the information stated, 13 families of flood victims who perished during the disaster also received RM10,000 in cash aid each.

The Klang district recorded the highest number of recipients with 16,843 families, followed by Petaling (15,435 families) and Kuala Langat with 9,079 families.

The cash aid was also distributed to 7,834 families in Hulu Langat, 6,273 families in Sepang, Kuala Selangor (4,791), Gombak (893), Hulu Selangor (94) and 40 families in Sabak Bernam.
