SHAH ALAM, Feb 21 — Residents affected by the road closure at Persiaran Puncak Jalil due to the pipe-laying work for the Langat 2 water treatment plant (WTP) are urged to cooperate with contractors so the project can be carried out without interruptions.

Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han said that despite complaints from the community, the work is necessary to ensure smooth water supply distribution to residential areas.

“The water pipes have to be laid on the right side of the road since the other utility assets have been installed on the left side. Thus the entire road must be closed off.

“Residents do not have to worry as all parties agreed the work will prioritise the safety of residents and road users,” he said on Facebook today.

Ng, who is also state executive councillor for local government, said a better traffic flow plan will be announced this week to facilitate road users.

“The contractor will also try to complete the project before April, since there is a Ramadan bazaar that will be operating in the area,” he said.

The road has been closed since Thursday last week and is expected to be completed on April 17.
