Selangor ready to roll out vaccination for kids if allowed by MOH

By Mustakim Ramli

GOMBAK, Feb 19 — The Selangor government is ready to implement the Selangor Vaccine (Selvax) programme for children if the Health Ministry (MOH) allows it, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said as of now, the state administration is only permitted to administer the booster shots under the Selvax Booster initiative.

“We have to wait for clearance from the ministry. We will implement the programme if we get the green light.

“For now, it is only for the booster dose,” he said after officiating the e-Sports Management Workshop at Dewan Kampung Melayu Batu Caves, today.

Amirudin said over 80,000 individuals have been administered under the state immunisation programme out of the 150,000 doses allocated for the initiative since December last year.

To register for the booster jab under Selvax Booster, visit https://selcareclinic.com/our-clinic/ or via the SELangkah mobile application.

As of yesterday, a total 383,165 or 10.8 per cent children aged five to 11 have received the first dose of the Covid-19 jab under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
