PETALING JAYA, Feb 14 — The Selangor government will hold a discussion with the Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) next week to get a clear picture of the Covid-19 situation in the state, says Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

The state executive councillor for public health said the meeting would touch on the clusters in the state, Covid-19 booster doses and preparations by the state administration and its agencies in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

“Since JKNS is under the Health Ministry, they have the details such as the total number of Covid-19 patients. They will brief us and we will take the next step,” she said when met at a free cervical cancer screening programme at the Dewan Komuniti MBPJ in Damansara Damai, here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dr Siti Mariah said Sinovac vaccine recipients under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) will be contacted soon on their booster shots.

“The state government has received the data of the recipients and the SELangkah team will review who are yet to receive the booster dose,” she said.

The Covid-19 cases had seen a slight dip of 1,730 infections yesterday, bringing the daily total to 21,072.

Health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said 99.59 per cent or 20,986 cases are of Category 1 and 2, with the remaining figure recorded as Category 3, 4, and 5.
