Ten thousand more Klang flood victims receive BSB cash aid

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Feb 24 — Another 10,000 flood victims in Klang have received RM1,000 in cash aid under the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) initiative today.

Klang district officer Mohd Faizal Abdul Raji said the distribution process is being conducted at the Dewan MBSA Kemuning Utama, Dewan Seri Kerayong, Kompleks Sukan Pandamaran and Dewan TNB Kapar from 3pm until 8.30pm tonight.

He said with the new number of recipients, a total of 55,654 families in Klang have now received assistance involving an expenditure of RM55.654 million.

Meanwhile, those who prefer the cash aid be transferred into their bank accounts via electronic funds transfer (EFT) need to update their information at https://www.selangor.gov.my/klang.php/database_stores/form/28.

Applicants must submit their MyKad number, full name, bank account number, bank name, a screenshot of the front page of the bank statement, a selfie photo of holding their MyKad, and a contact number.

Yesterday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said flood victims in the district could receive the BSB aid via EFT.

According to Amirudin, if recipients want to get the aid in cash instead, they are urged arrive on time at the set date set to avoid long queues.

In December last year, the state government allocated RM100 million to repair infrastructure in Selangor, and provide RM1,000 to each household affected by the floods, in addition to RM10,000 for the next-of-kin of flood victims who perished in the disaster.
