Thunderstorm warning in six areas within Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong wind warning to several areas in Selangor, this evening.

MetMalaysia on Facebook the bad weather is expected to last until 7pm today.

Selangor’s districts that will be affected include Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang

The agency had also forecasted similar situations to happen in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and several districts within Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak and Sabah.

“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.

“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.

The warning was issued at 4.40pm today.
