300 flood victims in Taman Medan evacuated to two temporary relief centres

SHAH ALAM, March 8 — A total of 300 flood victims in Taman Medan constituency were evacuated to two temporary relief centres (PPS) last night.

Its state representative Syamsul Firdaus Mohamed Supri said the victims were residents of PJS 1, PJS 2C/10 and PJS 3 areas.

“The number of affected victims could be higher, however, there are no official figures yet as normally the flood in Taman Medan subsides quickly.

“All of the victims are now being placed at two PPS namely Dewan PJS 2C/6 and Dewan PJS 1/35,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

He added that immediate actions have been taken by providing food to the flood victims in the PPS.

“Food aid has been distributed to all 300 victims,” he said.

Flash floods had inundated several areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur following continuous heavy downpours since 3pm yesterday.

Among the affected areas in Selangor include Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh, Kampung Gombak Batu Arang, Kampung Melayu Kundang and Kampung Melayu Sungai Serai, Batu Arang.
