SHAH ALAM, March 10 — A total of 934 residents around Petaling were affected by the flash floods on Tuesday (March 8).

Petaling district officer Mohd Jusni Hashim said four temporary relief centres (PPS) were activated to accommodate the victims.

“The PPS is still open until today even though the number of victims has decreased as most have returned to their homes.

“Due to unpredictable weather conditions, we will continue opening the PPS and have asked all agencies to be ready,” he told Selangorkini.

Heavy rain on Tuesday evening caused several areas in the state to be flooded, including Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh, Kampung Gombak Batu Arang, Kampung Melayu Kundang, Kampung Melayu Sungai Serai and Batu Arang.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Command Center (NDCC) portal reported that as of 8pm yesterday, a total of 241 victims are still seeking shelter in four PPS in Gombak, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts.

Of the total, 82 victims are at Dewan Majlis Perbandaran Selayang, Kampung Melayu Sri Kundang; Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Bukit Changgang (48) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Kota Warisan (111).
