MB thanks Selangor Sultan for concern over public health, inspired to boost agenda

SHAH ALAM, March 28 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed his gratitude to the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, following His Royal Highness’ visit to the Invasive Cardiology Laboratory (ICL) in Serdang Hospital earlier today.

He said the Sultan’s concern on the health of the people serves as an inspiration for the state government to always prioritise the public health agenda.

“Various initiatives including Iltizam Selangor Sihat and the Selangor Vaccine Programme is aimed at increase the people’s health levels,” Amirudin said in a Facebook post.

This morning Sultan Sharafuddin spent nearly two hours visiting Serdang Hospital’s ICL with the Menteri Besar. Also in attendance was Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

His Royal Highness expressed satisfaction at the ministry’s efforts to build new hospitals and upgrade existing ones in the state.

Sultan Sharafuddin also thanked the authorities for adding new health facilities including new hospitals in Sepang and Kapar and upgrading the hospitals in Banting, Kajang and Kuala Selangor.

Although the state has a network of private hospitals, His Royal Highness decreed that public health facilities are also crucial for the benefit for the urban poor and middle classes, as Selangor’s population is expected to reach seven million people.
