MB: Virtual sales network widens as nearly 8,000 traders join Plats programme

SHAH ALAM, March 18 — The Selangor Platform (Plats) programme has seen around 7,742 traders register with it as of December 31 last year, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the development is due to the efforts of the Rakan Digital Selangor team, which was appointed to go down onto the field to encourage traders to participate.

“Plats it a promotional platform and digital directory developed not only for traders during the Ramadan period but throughout its operational duration,” Amirudin said.

The Menteri Besar was speaking at the winding-up session on the decree of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, during the State Legislative Assembly earlier today.

He said the platform was introduced to aid the economic output of small-and-medium enterprises, particularly hawkers and retailers in Selangor.

“This digital initiative is a solution to problems, and we prepare this platform especially for traders to continue their businesses, in addition to widening their sales network,” Amirudin said.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to aid traders in generating full-time income, rather than being limited to the fasting period every year.

First introduced in Ramadan 2020, the platform is able to complete Selangor’s digital ecosystem agenda involving entrepreneurs through a digital medium.
