SHAH ALAM, March 30 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has answered the call to make the city a smart city and spur the state government’s idea of a Smart Selangor by 2025.
Its mayor Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor said the council has introduced several initiatives including the integration of MBSA’s services system with myMBSA, taxation system, licensing, unauthorised factories and Geographic Information System mapping.
“The usage of digital signatures will also be widened, in addition to introducing a trees and landscape assets system for Shah Alam (ePALSA), audit management system as well as energy and air quality management programme.
“In addition, to ensure the Smart Selangor agenda is driven forward MBSA will continue to
take steps to explore aspects involving artificial technology, drone manufacturing and other new technologies,” he said.
Zamani was speaking at the MBSA Excellent Service Awards 2021 ceremony held at the MBSA Convention Centre yesterday evening, which was also attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added the awards are a form of appreciation and recognition of the efforts and commitment by MBSA’s personnel in delivering excellent services throughout last year.
“This is not only motivation and recognition for the staff members who have carried out their duties with dedication in their jobs
“In the wider scope, the award is a move towards augmenting a work culture of excellence in all aspects involving management, administration, delivery and provision of services,” Zamani said.
During the awards ceremony, 121 MBSA personnel received the Excellent Service Awards 2021. The council also presented a Special Service Award to 24 individuals.
Two MBSA personnel received the Mayor’s Special Award, including Acting Director of the Engineering Department Datuk Hanif Basree Abdul Rahman and Assistant Administrative Officer of the Valuation and Property Management Department Wan Suraya Sahabaludin.
Also receiving the same award for the Excellent Department category is the Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing, which won RM5,000 in cash.
