MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms expected to hit 10 states for a week

SHAH ALAM, March 15 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted intense weather for 10 states in the country, beginning on March 16 until March 22.

It said based on the model analysis of the MetMalaysia Weather Research and Forecasting Model, European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast System (GFS), wind concentration in the Peninsular is expected to occur until tomorrow.

“The situation could potentially cause thunderstorms to happen over a longer period in many states including Selangor, Penang, Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor as well as the western and central part of Sarawak during the said period.

“The public is advised to regularly check the MetMalaysia official website at www.met.gov.my, download the myCuaca app, or follow the official social media platforms for the latest and verified weather forecast and information,” the agency said in Facebook post.
