SHAH ALAM, March 5 — More than 800 individuals have joined the Selangor Entrepreneur Clinic to get advice on managing a business, says state executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail.

She said aside from facing financial difficulties when doing a business, the entrepreneurs take part in the clinic for knowledge sharing from experts in the field.

“We look at the needs of those who join the programmes. Whether they need any form of assistance to increase their competitiveness in business, or if they need it in terms of goods or equipment, we would give grants.

“If they do not have enough to start up their business, Hijrah (Yayasan Hijrah) can provide a loan. If they are stuck, we guide them through the entrepreneur clinic,” she said when met at the Selangor International Halal Conference (Selhac) at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) here, yesterday.

Meanwhile, Rodziah said that the inaugural conference, which kicked off yesterday, is an effort to further boost the spirit of the entrepreneurs in the state.

“We want them to be able to not only explore how to generate income but also to put Selangor on the global map,” she said.

Selhac is organised by the Selangor government, in collaboration with Halal International Selangor (HIS), which features three components: forums, expos, and business matching.

The event is held from Friday to Sunday from 10am to 9.30pm at the Shah Alam Convention Center, featuring 100 exhibitors from 40 companies from the six clusters — food, pharmacy, beauty, tourism, fashion and halal ingredients.
