SHAH ALAM, March 9 — The Petaling Land and District Office has said over 22,000 flood victims in the state are qualified for the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) aid.

District Officer Mohd Jusni Hashim said of this number, only 500 victims have yet to receive the RM1,000 in cash from the BSB fund.

He said they can obtain the funds from BSB by visiting the Petaling Land and District Office.

“Only a small number, which is 500 households, have yet to receive BSB as they did not attend the handover ceremony.

“The distribution was made through a large-scale programme, in addition to the handover conducted at the housing areas of victims,” Mohd Jusni told SelangorKini earlier today.

He added the authorities is expecting the BSB distribution process to be resolved within the nearest future.

Earlier on the state government prepared a RM100 million fund via BSB to restore infrastructure, in addition to the cash aid to flood victims and the next-of-kin of flood victims who perished in the disaster last year.

Individuals who qualify are divided into three categories, including victims who moved to gazetted temporary relief centres, private locations, and those who chose to remain with their homes.
