PTPTN launches mobile app for customers’ convenience

KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) launched the ‘myPTPTN’ mobile application yesterday, which is expected to benefit over 3.63 million borrowers and 5.28 million Simpan SSPN depositors.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the effort was in line with the fifth thrust of PTPTN Strategic Plan 2021-2025 to empower the organisation towards a more dynamic and excellent direction through digitalisation to ensure that service delivery to customers is always at the best level.

Noraini was also optimistic that the application, which integrates all facilities into one system, would ease customers’ access to PTPTN.

“This mobile application can provide opportunities to the community to access PTPTN services anytime and anywhere.

“The launch of this mobile application is also a manifestation of PTPTN in ensuring the success of the national digitalisation agenda. More importantly, yesterday’s event is also the highlight of PTPTN’s Silver Jubilee celebration this year,” she said when launching the mobile app here.

Elaborating, Noraini said among the services provided in the application were loan statement review, loan repayment, Simpan SSPN (National Education Savings Scheme) statement review and deposits.

Meanwhile, PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid said the application was the corporation’s main initiative in conjunction with its 25th anniversary this year to ensure that it was on par with other financial institutions in providing the latest digital facilities.

He explained that PTPTN also held discussions with various quarters, such as the Higher Education Ministry and the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu), to gain expertise and knowledge related to technology and consumer safety features.

“I am also optimistic that this mobile app will be the best platform to bring the younger generation closer to PTPTN because they are always sensitive to digital facilities that will benefit them,” he said.
