SHAH ALAM, March 4 — The state manage to garner RM7.5 million in contract negotiations throughout the week of its participation in the Expo Dubai 2020 last month.
State executive councillor for entrepreneurial development Rodziah Ismail said this is based on the cooperation with several countries, including the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Poland, Kuwait, dan Singapore.
“Some took contracts with small values, perhaps to test our products. But others took up to RM4 million instead.
“The seven days spent here has been the starting point for Selangor to bring its entrepreneurs’ products to the world,” she said during the Selangor International Halal Conference at the Shah Alam Convention Centre earlier today.
Rodziah added that from the participation in this country, Selangor was one of the agencies that had its own kiosk, which is indicative of the state government’s commitment to helping businesses and traders.
“We will go to several more locations around the world. Three years ago it was in Nanning, China, and now it is in Dubai. People are already aware of our products in Nanning.
“So any entrepreneurs who are interested in expanding their business will need to register with the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (Upen) They will be summoned, and be given briefings before being brought forth,” she said.
Rodziah headed Selangor’s delegation to the expo from February 11 to February 18, which was also joined by Kohijrah Selangor and Upen representatives.
