SHAH ALAM, March 10 — The Selangor Youth Movement (PeBS) distributed 950 food packs to the residents of Kampung Permata in Kundang and Kampung Gombak in Kuang who were affected by the most recent floods.

Its president Akmal Halim said the Dapur Selangor Bangkit initiative will be able to help reduce the victims’ burdens after their homes were submerged in water on Monday evening.

“The distribution is to victims who are currently residing in the temporary relief centre at Dewan JKKK Kampung Permata, as well as those who have since returned to their homes.

“They are worn out after endeavouring to clear out their respective homes,” he told SelangorKini earlier today.

“Mereka penat selepas bertungkus-lumus membersihkan rumah masing-masing,” katanya kepada SelangorKini hari ini.

Akmal added that PeBS members, which has almost reached 300, are also at the ready to be mobilised in the event the floods reoccur.

“We have members in every state constituency. Should the disaster repeat itself, we will go down on the ground to aid the victims, including clearing out their homes,” he said.
