Selhac kicks off today with 100 exhibitors from a variety of fields

SHAH ALAM, March 4 — The Selangor International Halal Conference (Selhac) begins today at the Shah Alam Convention Centre under strict standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The inaugural event, hosted by the state government in cooperation with Halal International Selangor (HIS) began in a controlled manner, with participants and visitors adhering to the set rules.

Exhibitors could be seen tending to their respective exhibitions and promoting halal products to visitors.

Selhac, which will run for three days until March 6, opens at 10am until 9.30pm every day, featuring three components including forums, expos, and business matchings.

Some 100 exhibitors from 40 domestic and international companies will participate in the event, which has six clusters including food and beverage, health and pharmaceuticals, beauty and self-care, hospitalisation and tourism, as well as polite fashion and ingredients.

Earlier on state executive councillor for halal industries Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said the public’s attendance at Selhac will be carried out in zones, to prevent congestion at the location.

He said visitors from the central zone, including Klang, Petaling and Gombak, while the second day is for visitors from the southern zone, which are Sepang, Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat.

Visitors from the northern zone, which include Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor, will be on the final day of the conference.
