Unisel, Kuis innovation workshop helps boost higher education in Selangor

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, March 31 — The organisation of the Innovation Value Chain 2021 Workshop (Bernas) will help the state government to achieve its target of strengthening higher education in Selangor.

Rector of the Selangor International Islamic University College (Kuis) Prof Datuk Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah said in addition to Bernas which is being spearheaded together with the Universiti Selangor (Unisel) other initiatives have also been strengthened, including Selangor Kerjaya, Selangor AutomotifTVET, Rakan Digital Selangor and Selangor Freelancers.

“I believe a strong partnership between both tertiary education institutions will bring about a better impact in realising the aspirations of the Selangor state government.

“The involvement of the industry which serves as lecturers and mentors will ensure students have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and be directly exposed to a real working environment,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Farid added that 100 students are fully involved virtually in the programme.

“This success is also proof of Kuis’ preparedness in conducting virtual teaching and learning,” he said.

Bernas 2021 is a webinar session in stages and is divided into three different programmes which began on December 4 last year until March 6.

The webinar is aimed at providing a picture to its participants of the importance and methods of forwarding ideas in their respective projects as well honing their abilities in
presenting said projects.
