Various activities to help special children throughout March

SHAH ALAM, March 14 — State organisation Anak Istimewa Selangor (AnIS) will be conducting different kinds of activities to aid special needs children, starting today until March.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the programme, under the supervision of Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) will take place at AnIS’ centre and throughout the district.

“The early screening on March 19 will help parents to identify the developmental problems of special children. Doctors and therapists will also be present to provide consultation for them.

Dr Siti Mariah added the dialogue programme to gather the views of stakeholders at ensuring the success of the Independent Living Centre Selangor will also be held on March 22.

She said the focus-group discussion programme will help children aged 18 and above to learn how to live independently.

March 29 — AnIS Symposium – The Future Education of Special Needs Children.
