Vax certs levy: Selangor in negotiation with MySejahtera operator

By Sheeda Fathil

GOMBAK, March 19 — The state government is negotiating with the MySejahtera operator regarding the charges levied on the issuance of digital vaccine certificate for Selangor Vaccination (Selvax) programme recipients.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said he is confident that the issue can be resolved as soon as possible, thus enabling 12,604 individuals to receive their vaccine certificates.

“This is the right of the people and MySejahtera operator received payments to develop the mobile application. We have also paid to give the vaccine (to the people), so why is there a need to charge for this and other things?

“This digital vaccine certificate is for data matching that will help facilitate MySejahtera service. I hope the minister and the relevant department will help, as we are still in the midst of negotiations,” he said after launching the state’s affordable housing programme in Batu Caves today.

Amirudin said the state vaccination programme helped around 350,000 people get inoculated.

“We had helped the Federal government in giving them revenue and they had saved RM700,000 because since the start of the Selangor vaccination programme we have administered 700,000 doses,” he added.

Yesterday, state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud informed that 12,604 people who have completed both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination via the Selvax programme have yet to receive their MySejahtera digital vaccine certificates as of March 14.
