SHAH ALAM, March 22 — Three outstanding Form Three Assessment (PT3) students have been selected as pioneers of the Yayasan Selangor (YS) Bitara (Bitara) programme to be placed at the Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka.

The foundation Education Department senior manager Zahura Zakry informed that two of them will be fully sponsored by the foundation while another will be co-funded with the college.

She said the sponsorship covers fees, accommodation and food, computer programming, art and design, sports and games, music, performing arts and leadership programmes, pocket money and smart devices.

“The students will sit for the Sijil Am Antarabangsa Pendidikan Menengah examination in Form Five and must obtain at least a grade point average of 3.0 in each examination to continue being sponsored,” she said in a statement.

The students are Faiz Saian from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang, Ayra Danisha RIzal Edwan RIzal (SMK Aminuddin Baki, Kuala Lumpur) and Nur Syaznani Riana Khairulnizam (SMK Jalan Empat, Bangi).

Zahura said the Bitara programme was introduced as part of the foundation’s transformation agenda after its 50th year of establishment and is now part of the YS Special Education Plan that started in 1971.

According to her, through Bitara, excellent students get to study in elite schools with a more conducive learning environment and excellent infrastructure that helps in their development.

“Bitara’s objective is to produce excellent, global-minded and competitive students who meet the needs of the world-class job market.

“It is also a recognition and reward for YS-sponsored students who excel to enjoy better facilities at reputable schools and achieve better results,” she said.
