Body of man found in Sungai Klang

SHAH ALAM, April 27 — The body of a man was found stranded in Sungai Klang near the Desa Mentari iron bridge, in Petaling Jaya, yesterday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Norazam Khamis said the body, believed to be in his 30s, was found by a member of the public who made an emergency call at 9.05pm.

“A total of seven rescuers from Jalan Penchala Fire and Rescue Station were rushed to the scene.

“The man’s body was successfully brought out from the river and handed over to the police for further action,” said Norazam in a statement reported by Sinar Harian today.

Meanwhile, in a separate Sinar Harian report, Norazam said a driver was seriously injured after the car he was driving was involved in an accident on Jalan Glenmarie here, early morning today.

“A Honda car driven by a 20-year-old local man from Subang heading towards the Federal Highway had skidded and hit a road divider.

“The car broke in two and the front part was dragged for 50 meters while the rear part caught fire,” he said in a statement issued today.

Norazam said a fire truck from Kota Anggerik Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene and arrived at 1.19am.

He said the victim received treatment from Bomba’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team before being sent to Shah Alam Hospital for further treatment.
