SHAH ALAM, April 28 — The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MBSJ) has issued 26 notices for compound offers and four shop closures of premises which failed to adhere to the set regulations.
MBSJ corporate and strategic management department director Azfarizal Abdul Rashid said all the notices were issued in a joint enforcement operation with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) the day before.
“The joint operation with KPDNHEP was conducted around Pangsapuri Angsana USJ 1 in Subang Jaya after reports were received of business premises that were suspected to be run by foreigners.
“It began at 3.30pm until 5pm and was joined by 39 MBSJ officers and 11 KPDNHEP enforcement personnel, to check on several premises including groceries, hair salons, and premises selling liquor illegally or selling food past its expiry date,” he said in a statement.
Azfarizal added the operation was also joined by Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Johary Anuar and his deputy Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali.
Five premises were issued compounds for failing to be properly maintained, 13 for violating the terms of their business license, three for not displaying advertisements without a legitimate MBSJ license, one for not complying with its license’s conditions and four for placing items for sale in public areas.
He said KPDNHEP also issued a RM300 compound to a grocery store owner for failing to use pink price tags for controlled goods which include Grade A, B, C chicken eggs, in accordance with the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
