SHAH ALAM, April 15 — The van e-hailing service via the Kumpool Ride app in the Subang Jaya state constituency has seen an enthusiastic response from the public, with the highest record of passengers at 150 a day.

The figure is 10 times the number compared to when it was first implemented last year with high demand during the weekends involving families and students, said its state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze.

She said three vehicles are used thus far and that she intends to add one more van in the near future for the ease of Subang Jaya residents.

“The response (from the public) since it was introduced at the end of last year has exceeded expectations,” Ng said when contacted.

Kumpool Ride was introduced to disperse traffic congestion and parking with a rate of RM1 for easier, comfortable and safer transportation access everyday from 8am to 8pm.

The service covers over 200 stops including bus and LRT stations in addition to dense housing areas. The app can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google’s PlayStore.
